pulsating rfi problem -any suggestions???

recently had this problem at my qth

with tv reception using rabbit ears
with all am radio reception
yaesu vx-5r handi talkie on weather band 162.425 mhz

THE PROBLEM
a regular constant pulsating source of rfi - 5 seconds on 1 second off - 5 seconds on 1 second off - 5 seconds on 1 second off continual 24h/7 days

THE TRACK DOWN
using the vx-5r on 162.425mhz started walking the neighborhood - across the street at a vacant home for sale the signal was so strong it desensitized the receiver

DEALING WITH THE REALTOR
called the realtor and the listing agent came right over - explained the problem and demonstrated the problem on my tv, am radios, and the vx-5r
went to the vacant house - nothing obvious was seen after a thorough search - turned off and reset main breaker to home and the problem disappeared - temporarily, it reappeared the next morning at 0720 hours - called realtor again and he came right back - this time turned off circuits individually - living room circuit appears to be the problem - it was left off by the realtor and for the past 48 hours no rfi -

ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THE SOURCE?
nothing is obvious source of rfi - any suggestions will be appreciated

CHECK FOR SMOKE ALARMS THEY CAN BE A SOURCE OF RFI

Smoke alarms would not be wired through the on off switch to the living room. I would look for older style dimmer switches on the walls particularily the ones with timmers on them, and older style light fixtures. They radiate noise.

Also check for a bad doorbell xformer. This one bit me once!
At least you're lucky enough to isolate the problem to a specific house/circuit!!!
