New tech here looking for a voice recorder to Y off my headset output from my HT. I saw several digital voice recorders on Amazon in the $30-$40 range with a MIC input.

Are these acceptable to hook up to the headphone output from an HT?

It should work. I have always used a Creative Muvo MP3 player that has a line-in port to record direct from my HT.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure the external input is a line in and not a mic in.

I use an old minidisc player/recorder. It's nice because it is random access and marking a QSO is as easy as pushing the record button.
