A few weeks ago I built a downlink antenna "cheap yagi for 70 cm". I kept trying to hear the sat. but no luck. I read a few days ago that AO-51 was down so I gave it another try.

I finally heard AO-51 this morning.

YESSSSS!!!!

I have an IC-451 for the downlink.  Now I am looking for an uplink antenna for my HT. I can't seem to find any one like the one I made for the downlink.
My idea is to make a boom for both antennas and mount it on a tripod I have. Does anyone know of any links I can go to?

N4KF,

Try this link:  http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/information/faqs/crow/index.php

It will point you to all 3 articles - "Cheap yagi for 70cm" which you have already built, "Cheap yagi for uplink" its companion, and an article about how to mount them.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for.

Made my fist contact on Satellite this afternoon on AO-27. With my HT for uplink and an old ICOM 451 for the downlink.

 What a thrill!!!!

Thanks de Al,N4KJF
