I quess it is just me being old and slow, but it sure gets confusing when you have a post near the top in the amplifier forum from July 18, 2005.

That's because someone found it and posted a new response. If it didn't come to the top of the list then you'd probably never know the new response had been posted. In theory the new response adds some new, relevant information to the thread making it again of interest. There are of course some threads that should just die and be relegated to page 150 but you can't have it both ways :-)
