Greetings

I've been thinking about getting into Sats a bit.  I already have a decent HF rig TS850 and several all mode 2m rigs but nothing in 430mhz.  I hear so many good things about the 706 but nothing specifically about sat work.  Any thoughts?  I ahve the chance to purchase a TS811a or a FT736r as well   the FT736r is a bit pricey,, the same as the 706 and I'd have the portability if I ever wanted.  Oh and a FT100D just caught my attention as well.  Not sure about that one as the reviews on here are scary.

Whats your thoughts??

IF you think you want to spend alot of time with sats then buy a sat radio.  A 706 will send and receive on sat bands but there is little convenience compared to what you find with a sat radio.

Chris an Icom IC-910 is a great radio for sats.  Has a switch for that selection.  It has indivudual inputs on the rear for UHF & VHF antennas.  External preamps and the ability to have a 1.2G unit installed.
