I am currently building my first HF station, I should have my code done before the end of the year to give me my General ticket.
I have been looking for a decent desk mic and am more confused than when i started.
What would you reccomend for the IC-706 ?
I enjoy selling radios and upgrading so i probably will not have a radio longer than 2 years.
Is there a mic you would reccomend that is easily rewired for different radio's ?
Thanks and 73's

I use a Pryme PMC-100 desk mike for my IC-706MkII and get good audio reports with it. It has a switch to select between SSB and FM when using it with the 706. It also doesn't "eat" the AA batteries. It comes with the cord needed to connect to the 706. You also can adjust the audio output to suit your voice and situation. I like the styling of it too. Good luck.

I am using an MFJ 299 amplified desk mike it has a 4 band graphic equalizer, comp and gain controls. It uses 1 9 volt batt. which I'm still on my 1st since Xmas.  You get all this for $99.00 .  works for me, I've also hooked it to my Kenwood 480HX and have received great audio and signal reports.  Hope this helps.  Mark  KI4CRA
