I have a MJF-949E tuner and a MFJ artificial ground,(hamstick) I use with my yaseu FT840 radio, it works great love it.
My question is this, I have an old CB radio id love to set up. It has no tuner so why not use the MJF
sounds simple, and probably is, but how can i tune it in without a CW tone?

Key the CB in AM mode.  You should have enough carrier to tune.

What frequency is the hamstick used for, and what frequencies can you tune it to now?  Tuning for 11 meters isn't that far away from tuning for 10.

And yes, just press the PTT button in AM mode.  Keep in mind that you should only be getting 4 watts out.  Plus, if you are using a tuner, a non-resonant antenna and an artificial ground, you are going to have a lot of losses there, and you're not going to have much of that 4 watt signal when all is said and done.  You'd actually be much better getting an 11 meter mag mount and finding something to sit it on (like an air conditioner).  You'd have a much better signal in my opinion.

You might wanna try making a simple 11 meter sloper or vertical dipole!  It could match up to your CB without a tuner, and should work quite well.
