Has anyone experienced poor reception with the stock antenna on their Uniden BCD396T? I was getting alot of cracking and popping with the stock antenna.

I live in a 800MHz trunked county. So basically all I listen to is in the 800-900MHz range.

I just purchased a Max Systems 8HH antenna that is suppose to give better reception in the 800MHz-900MHz trunked systems.

I have noticed some improvement but not as much as I had hoped.

Has anyone had a good experience with an aftermarket handheld scanner antenna?

Scannermaster.com seems to offer quite a few aftermarket antennas, but they just look like larger versions of my stock antenna.
