Anyone homebrew a dip coil for the MFJ Analyzers?

The MFJ analyzers don't work well as a dip meter even using the MFJ coils.  So, maybe not worth the effort.

It doesn't work *well* but I did use a 259B with the dip coils to resonate some traps and that turned out fine.

If you want to try it, it seems that the HF coil is just ~10 turns of something like #18 wire on a maybe 1/2" form with heat shrink over top.

Wouldn't hurt to try, but don't trust it *too* much... I've certainly seen plenty of comments like the one above, and I've only used the '259 as a dipper a handful of times, so I'm far from an expert.  I think you're right not to buy the coils... I got mine with the unit as part of an accessory kit, and they were an Xmas gift some years ago ;-)
