Hi y'all

I recently had a real hard time finding the proper mike for my ICOM-IC 730.
That little radio was sitting here and could not use it for weeks because I could not find a mike.

Then I found a company in Belgium and they have a whole collection of them:

This is what they wrote:

The 730 is one of the "zero series" Icoms. These rigs had a preamp in the mic, rather than in the radio, as most other Japanese designed rigs, and all later Icoms.  The "zeros" need to see quite a bit of drive at the microphone input.

Icom made some amplified mics, but there are better choices.

I have a very fine 740 and use a Heil 781 via a Behringer 802 preamp/mixer/eq.  I get great results.  I've also used a D104 retrofit with a Heil HC-4 element, again through the Behringer.  It works well, but, as expected, sounds different.

Heil and Behringer are not the only choices, but work well.
