Who drained their bladder in your cheerios pally? I love my TS 2000 and I also feel it is great radio and the fact that it operates on 3 different bands makes it even more likeable.  I take it you have never used one before.

The TS2000 is a very interesting concept but was built with primitive (by today's standards) DSP. IF they were to redo it as a TS2100 or something with modern DSP it would be a nice rig but as it exists it is a compromise rig. It does a lot of things but none of them really well. BTW myself I spent some time with one several times in 2009 and it convinced me that it was lacking in HF area compared to newer and sometimes cheaper rigs. The 590 is WAY ahead of it on HF.

You may love it but that does not make the TS-2000 a great rig. Even 12 years ago it was not a great rig. It was and is a jack of all trades,  It is Mediocre at everything and that is being kind.

Yep I owned one for 3 years, fortunately it was not my main radio.

What they are saying is true. The TS-2000 is a pretty Deaf Radio.  One day you will replace your 2000 with a better Rig and be shocked at what you were not hearing.

My TS-2000 hears everything my FT-950 and TS-590 hears so I would disagree with what both of you say.

I have a TS-2000 and I don't agree at all with the negative comments here.

Compared to my Orion II, it isn't as sensitive or selective, but for practical purposes, there are very, very few situations where I can work a station on my Orion II that I can't work on my TS-2000.

I think it's a good radio.

I always have to chuckle when I read the ramblings of the Kenwood demise crowd.

They're strong, but they've got a lot more going than products for just the ham market.  They make very, very fine biz band gear.

They'll be around....everyone relax.
