However, all eyes are now on the Lexington, KY BBB. Let's wait and see what happens.  But obviously, no one who claims to have been burned by Martyn has ever contacted the BBB to complain.

Not true. I can't say anymore right now, but complaints have been filed to the "Bluegrass BBB" about Radio-Mart. Why they're not showing on his 'BBB record' is unclear, and I am trying to determine that.

I am like you, 26 pages and counting of bad deals and crooked actions. Maybe out of the 16,000 positive ratings he had on Ebay, one could have posted on here that he was a stellar guy and great business man!!!! Sad

He had a nice looking Drake 2C up for auction.  At that point I had not heard of him.  I made the mistake of only looking at his feedback number, not the individual positives and negatives.  He described the radio  as being in mint collector condition, and that it worked perfectly.  Well, it light up but did not work at all.  He was willing to refund the money minus the shipping. I believe he made money on the shipping, and I learned a hard lesson.

A quote from the QTH.com Thread ...

I have been a proud radio amateur for more than 30 years, I do own radiomart, no big secret there, I also do know gottahaveit1995 no big secret there either but I have no direct connection with him, We do intertrade hence the obvious association, there hope that’s cleared that up.

gottahaveit1995 is "ilove2cell" and radio-marts "other" account .....

Yep, and notice how he puffs up about his "A+ BBB Rating"

Here's a terrific short article by an attorney that pulls
the rug out from the BBB. The BBB are worthless (unless
you pay the $500/YEAR to be a member!)

excerpt:

When I asked the BBB rep about these "possible complaints" against my business, he quickly explained that up to this point, the BBB had never received a complaint against my business, but that if we were a member of the BBB, we would be the first to know about one if it was lodged against us. Gee, thanks.

And the BBB knew it.

But that's okay as long as he is now current with his dues.  The BBB is known to give poor ratings to those businesses who don't pay dues, and look the other way for a while whan a dues paying member rips off customers.  There are plenty of news stories about this on Google.

This is why this thread lives on...you can't make stuff like this up!

What I'd like to determine is why the BBB's site is silent about Radio-Mart having displayed the BBB Accredited logo before he was actually a member.

To:  ars-w5jon
From:  ilove2cell

Dear ars-w5jon,

All you need to do is check THIS username. I opened gottahaveit1995 a LONG time ago. And used it as a buying account only at first. I listed a bunch of stuff like almost 2 years ago so changed it to match what I sold. Then got a corp job, then the recession, and opportunity knocked again with lots for me to buy and sell.
Also, that's no secret either...........

When I was looking into Radio Mart after being shafted, it seems that he claimed to have a "G" call sign...as in a U.K. ham call sign, and as I remember, he is located in Kentucky.  Also, he claimed to be a motorcycle road racer.  Just wondering if anybody else noted that?
