Hi all,
I'm David, KG4SUF, and I've only had my call for a few months. Still, I'm itching to try new things, and new modes of communication interest me. I'm working on my code and on the General ticket, and hope to have those passed by this fall sometime. My other hobby is computers, so putting the two of these together would probably be explosive.

I was wondering, since I have two radios already, what options do I have open for other modes of communication? I have heard much about modes such as PSK31, RTTY, packet, APRS, etc, etc, but I'm not really sure where to start. I understand that I need a TNC, but what else?

Could someone explain the basics, or at least direct me to some web sites that do? My rigs are a Yaesu FT-1500M and a Kenwood TH-G71A.

Thanks, and 73s,
David

Try www.packetradio.org
Buck's site has more than you'll ever need to know about getting started in packet!
