PULSAR ANTENNA

I want to buy a dual bander antenna, for 2mter and 70cm, I was checkng the Pulsar antennas and sound like a good option howver, the diamonds brand are like 3 times the price compare to the MFJ version, is there any reall difference or is just brand pricing?

The best value for the money, bar none, is the Larsen NMO270B or C. The difference between the two is the B model is black anodised and the C is chrome.

Properly installed in an NMO mount this antenna will out perform any of the Japanese "big" antennas and it is almost impossible to destroy in typical ham use.

The Japanese antenna companies lie through their teeth about gain claims and a good hit with a tree limb will generally leave the antenna on the ground in pieces.

These statements are made from long experience.

PS - MFJ's antennas are even cheaper built than the Diamonds and Comets.

KE7EOZ, that specific "base station" antenna has a terrible reputation for leaving customers wondering why they wasted their money on it.

I've been using the Diamond SG-7900NMO for a while now and have NEVER had a dual bander come close to this antenna. It's big, it's heavy and if not mounted right I could see where problems could arise. I've tried the Larsen and yes it is cheaper but in a side by side I don't think there is any comparision IMHO. My 2 cents and your results may vary (but I don't think they will )

hey it is a MFJ. what more can you ask for. it still amazes me folks buy this stuff. even more interesting is the folks that say hey !!! this stuff is great.
