I have a fully working good condition (with new PSU capacitors) Henry Radio Tempo 2002 2m linear amp with service/operation manual plus mods documents that someone wants to buy off me. It's one of the older models with a pair of 8874 tubes. I'm wondering what I should ask for it.

Does the old $1/Watt rough pricing still hold?

Cheers,
Dave Fifield

It might because the amp is reasonably rare.  But ordinarily anything with 8874s in it is greatly devalued because you cannot buy those tubes anymore; Eimac stopped making them several years ago, and there is no source of supply for them.

A 2002 in my opinion is probably worth $750 or so.

I had one brand new back in the early 1980s and it was a good amplifier, but again, the unfortunate poor tube choice bit Henry in the butt.  Nobody knew Eimac would discontinue the 8873-8874-8875 so soon after it was introduced, but they did, and nobody made any replacements for them.
