Do you have a friend that is not a ham? Do you constantly bug them about it and they always say, no, it is too hard, I don't have the time, I don't have the money???

Well, now they can have one less excuse. Hamquick.com, a website I created can teach your friend all the material in the Technician Class Question Pool they need to know for FREE!! Yeah, no hidden gimicks or anything. No BANNER ADS EITHER!!!

No need to buy any expensive ARRL books or anything... just ...

point your non-amateur operator friends to http://www.hamquick.com and tell them to study the Tech. Class Tutorials.

Let me know what you think... via email...

Its the code that's the problem. I suck at morse code, and I don't have the time to practice.

I've passed the test for extra (down the tubes now, did it when I was 13) but not the code part. Oh well, technician for me! My friends just don't give a rip.

Most of my friends would rather talk to others online I have a few friend that are alittle interested I hope that I can get one of them on the air..  I mean it would be so cool..  They would not have to worry to much about getting a high-dollar radio, because I have a nice 2m rig...  a cheap handi talki and mag mount antenna would be fine!

I have gotten 2 Friends serious on interest and have givin one all my books to get his general and thaat is what he wants... I do though have a lack of interest among otheres ... one thing that has gotten a friends dads interested was the R/C on 50Mhz to avoid thetraffic on 72 and 49 and 27 ... The satellites of today are easy to get started in and are fun to work ... remember that not everyone likes the hobby and could care less ... Its the few of us that do love the hobby that makes it special.

Whats so good about the hobby is that there is so many different things to do on radio..  If not 6meter DX or 6meter Radio Controlled Vehicles..  To HF DX there are many digital modes contests and to just plain rag-chew on the Ham bands.....  Not to forget satellite communications...  Anything I left off?  I hope to get the chance to do alittle bit of it all..

Hey, worried about morse code?  No problem. I have an article on my website "http://www.hamquick.com" about morse code and how to learn it.

Go to: http://www.hamquick.com/articles/art_learn_morse.php

Check it out, and don't grip about it.

Sam.

Good for you Sam, I like your positive attitude.  Others post they don't have time to learn, well, if they don't have time to learn then they certainly don't have time to operate, so no loss.  Keep up good work!

Some say the code is outdated, stupid, and that nobody uses it anymore and that hey will never use it..  Well I look at this IF you spend your time learning the code then you will use it (Or at least that applys for me...  No reason to spend hours of my days learning somthing I may never use, but hey I am sure I will use it..  Its hard to explain....  Most of yall will get my drift..

SAM

your site is great. i will present it to my ham radio club at school here at San Diego and try to get my members who dont have their ham ticket licensed. i have heard the excuse that it is too hard to learn but it is very easy some people are just to lazy these days
but i have to give it up to you for a great site.

Try buying a (used I've seen scanners for under $25.00
at garage sales)scanner with narrow band capability,
and just listen to any cw you can hear, dont worry about the speed, just pick up whatever letters you can
and don't feel frustrated about making sentences.
If you ever walk around with an mp3, try just tuning
in 10 meters, just for a short while, your freinds
will not know or care, maybe you can put it in the leather case the player comes in.
If you are lucky enough to hear someone going 8-10 wpm
stop everything and copy.
If you are bored with listening to code tapes, (as I
have allways been)try broadcasting the code around the house on a part 15 device, make sure the transmitter
or receiver drifts once in a while or has a lot of
chirp!
Don't ask me just do it!
