Hi all,
my apologies for my intrusion but I need help with an software assignment I am trying to complete.

I have been instructed to create a "QSO Recorder" software application complete with documentation etc, but due to my extreme lack of knowledge in this field I am getting confused between a "QSO Recorder" and a QSO Logger, perhaps they are the same thing but from what I can understand is that a "QSO Recorder" records the vocal comms of a successful QSO and a QSO Logger is a utility that enables the user to enter and log relevant details concerning a successful QSO. Am I way off base with my assumption and if so can some helpful person help me to understand where I've lost the plot?

Regards,

"QSO Recorder" is ambiguous, from my perspective. One of the most important aspects of good software engineering is making the requirements explicit, so you are right to seek clarity. I'd pose the question to whoever gave you the assignment.

You might infer the answer via logic like "recording QSO audio would require control of a soundcard, which is beyond the scope of this course, so he/she must have meant 'QSO logger' " but this is suboptimal.
