I am interested in obtaining information on the cloning software for this radio. I have owned this radio for almost one year and have completed no mods to it. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the CS-v-8000 software. Is it worth the price??  Are there any shareware programs that will do the same things as the Icom software??  I am a little hesitant spending $30.00+ for this software if there is a shareware version out there somewhere.  I do have the cloning cable which I have been using with my Icom HT.

Thanks for the help.

I'm in the same situation.  I have scoured the internet looking for a freeware/shareware version of the IC-V8000 cloning software with no success.  If anyone knows of such please let us know.

I broke down and purchased the IC-V8000 programming software ($31.00 W\Shipping). It would be nice if ICOM would supply the software with the cable ($45.00 W\shipping) as Kenwood does. A radio that has 200+ memories begs to be programmed in a more efficient manner than through the Microphone. I'll take this lack of support into consideration when performing a review of the ICOM IC-V8000.

It has come to my attention that there is some programming software available at www.yahoogroups.com.  Just search on IC-V8000 and join the group.  The software is in the files section on the left, in addition, there is the mainenance manual and the operators manual.  I am unaware as to the functionality (Or legality) of this software as I purchased mine.  This is just for information purposes only.
