Does anyone have or used to have a Sonar CD-2 transciever? I have looked on the net (breifly, due to time restrictions), and haven't found anything yet. I have a chance to buy one of these, and am not sure if it would be worth messing with. Anything anyone could tell me would be appreciated. Thanks, Randy

The CD-2 is a 50's era AM transceiver, designed for Civil Defense, but usable on 2 meters.

27 watts plate input power, about 17 watts output, plate modulated.  110VAC/6VDC operation.  8 xtal channels.  Dual conversion receiver with .5mv sensitivity.

There is a CD-2 listed on EBAY right now. We used one in the middle 50's for RACES.

Bob, Thanks. I looked and the price is right. It also looks complete as well. It'll have a new home if the price stays reasonable.  73's, Randy KF5AKQ
