i once knew of a radio technician who has since passed away. this guy was an excellent amateur radio technician knew everything about everything. well, he came out with this mod that worked on ranger rci 2950's and emperor ts-5010's where he converted them from a 10 meter or cb rig to a 2 meter all mode transceiver that worked really good. i am wondering if anyone has heard of this mod because since he passed away, he did not pass his secrets down to anyone. I am curious to know how these mods are done if anyone has heard of it.

I think that you will find that he used a device called a transverter.

But the radios that you mention are based on CB engineering and are possibly on the FCC banned list.

Please check before commiting time and money to any project involving the rigs mentioned.
