Hi gang, after many years of operating with the Kenwood TS850 and the IF-232C Kenwood interface to remotely control the rig by my computer it finally quit on me.
I have changed the RS232 cable from the interface to the computer, and I have tried several programs just in case it might be a software problem.
I realize everything is old and doesn't owe me anything however being retired and on a fixed income if I was able to find an easy fix that would be great.
The two items I am not able to check is the interface, and the TS 850.
I am tempted to spend $50 and get a new cable with the interface built into the cable, however if it is not an interface problem and is a rig problem I will have wasted $50.
At this point in time, if it is the rig I don't feel that it would be worth the money to have it fixed.
I guess what I am asking is if anyone else has had this problem with this equipment.

Thanks, 73......Bob
