Hello World!
I'm new to HF communication. I would like to know what are the possibility of TCP/IP over HF using a software PACTOR compatible modem? Is there any software HF modem that allows TCP/IP over HF (20-30 MHz range)?

HF Data solutions provided by manufacturer like http://www.codan.com.au seems to be very expensive (US$ 6000/- for a set of HF Modem and Transceiver).

Solutions listed at http://www.nsrc.org/wireless/HF-radio.html seems to be quite interesting, but they are costly for me to afford.

Eagery waiting for a solution!

To date, I don't believe there are any Windows based software solutions for Pactor ARQ due to timing issues. It requires a dedicated hardware controller.

There is a new sound card based ARQ protocol under development and it may work with TCP/IP. You may be able to find some information on the ARRL web site ( http://www.arrl.org )
