1% coils

Hi all,
i just found a supplier of 1% 3.3mH and 33mH inductors.

The only problem is that you have to order 1000 !
Can anyone gives an idea how I am going to grab them. Can we find a reatiler for
these coils ?

1% is the tightest spec I have seen on inductors. Why do you need such a tight tolerance?

Do you realise that these are US$7.29 EACH, not $7.29 per 1000?

And I think the 1% is an error; the datasheet shows 10% with 5% & 3% available as options.

But the part number indicates that these are 10% as I read it.

It's likely that you want these for DC receivers.

I bought a big lot of Toko 10PA inductors from ebay a few years ago; enough to last me the rest of my life.  They weren't expensive as I recall.

It's easy to dismantle them and re-wind to get a required L; they are also adjustable.

The Q of these devices is only 27 for the 33 mH units. They are limited in their application. 1% tolerance requirements suggests you are using these in resonators in high Q applications or can tolerate substantial losses in narrow band applications.

You can buy ferrite cores and wind your own a lot cheaper than buying the 1000 piece lot. Check out the excess inventory at Lodestone Pacific (www.lodestonepacific.com) or Micrometals (www.micrometals.com) for cores which may meet your needs. Mouser also has ferrite core beads which may allow you to realize your needs.

With more expensive units it is claimed you can measure nanohenries. I cannot swallow it
Well to measure nanohenries, theoretically its ok, but practically, I can't see how it works, unless you have a leadless termnal
