My Gateway LCD monitor fickers out upon computer start up.  I have been able to revive it sometimes by pressing the "set/source" button multiple times.

I unplugged and cleaned all the cables and connections, opened the computer and re-seated the video card as well.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Forgot to mention that I swapped in an older CRT monitor, and it works fine.  However, that doesn't mean the video board is OK I suppose because the LCD connect with two cables to the video board while the CRT connects with only one cable.

Hi Dick,

The computer will boot up with vga until the o/s
takes over.  That is why it works then fails.

Not all LCD models will work on all of the resolution settings.

Check the settings in the o/s under display,
verify the model lcd is what the o/s has listed.
