Hi, I am looking for an interim-use HF rig, 100 watt,  used,   with Audio DSP (not IF DSP, thus less expensive)  to hold me over til I get my old ant farm revamped/refurbished (a year project) , then I'll buy a new current rig and spend some bucks, HI.
Your recommendation is appreciated. I do not know the used market very well for this type of spec.

Icom IC-746 non-pro version check e-ham ratings. Great radio, 160 meters to 2 meters, auto notch feature is awesome,  and priced around $700 - $850 depending on the filters installed.

Happy hunting

New or used and how much bucks?  Since you will likely keep it when you finish your renovation project, might as well buy something you will still want to use.

I have to admit to liking the IC-7200 for an entry-level radio - with the front firing speaker as well, it works in a stack of radios.

Any used FT-897 or 857 or IC-706 if you have a budget to meet and want reasonably modern or perhaps something to use as a mobile in the future.

Dunno, lot's of potential choices - maybe you go to a hamfest and go with potluck?

tnx and ref the $ amount question:  I would consider up to $ 800 prox. but that might include IF DSP in a used rig??  Thus, as I don't need IF DSP for the interim, perhaps the used prices would be lower than $ 800 ??.
Tnx to all so far with responses,   Steve  K1PEK

I saw a used but pristine 746Pro at the Orlando Hamcation for $900 this weekend. For another $100, I'd sure have IF DSP over AF DSP.

We are Coulomb of Borg. Resistance is futile. Voltage, on the other hand, has potential.

Icom IC-718. Audio DSP and filter. I've seen used for $500. Sometimes shipping included in price. Would make good back-up rig should you find yourself able to acquire something (better?) later.

FT-920, TS-570 S/G, TS-450, Omni-V or VI, IC-718, IC-756 Pro-II or IC-746 all of these farly current radios can be had for under $800 and will make a nice HF base station.

Put the rest of your money into the antenna.
