OK, so I'm not the brightest light in the harbor.  Can anyone tell me what I've missed... I write (apparently effectively) to my VX-2, using the KC8UNJ Commander and the radio's then "locked" in memory-only mode -- VFO no more.  Thanks and 73's to the group.

See page 43 in your VX-2R manual:

"To place the radio in Memory Only mode, turn the
radio off. Now press and hold in the [V/M] key while
turning the radio on. To return to normal operation,
repeat the above power-on procedure."

I don't think there's anything in VX-2 Commander to set this option, but you might have accidently pressed this key instead of [F/W] when turning your radio on to do the programming...

Anyway, turning on the radio while pressing the [V/M] key should get you back on your feet.
