I am looking for help with echolink.  It want let me connect to the stations and gives me a time out error.  I am not behind a fire wall and dont have a router.  I have tried both of my laptops and on different networks already..  Any ideas?Huh

Most often the issues are related to firewalls. If you don't have a router and are directly connected to your cable/DSL box, then obviously you don't have an issue with an external firewall. Check to see if Windows Firewall is enabled. If not, then check to see if you have a software firewall in your McAfee or Norton AV software.

I hope you have looked through the EchoLink site where they provide detailed information on typical connectivity issues.

Just curious...who is your ISP?

Many cable modems and DSL "modems" nowadays actually have a router built into them.

If you can find the make and model of your device, look it up on www.portforward.com as a first step.
