hi,

If you are using pre Vista windows os, you can download utility from MS to edit the time zone file to reflect the new dates for DST.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/8/a/58a208b7-7dc7-4bc7-8357-28e29cdac52f/tzedit.exe

Full MS KB article is here

A much easier method if you don't feel like fiddling with the registry.  This will work on NT, 2K, and XP, but you shouldn't need it for XP if you're getting Windows Updates from Microsoft.  I've used it on standalone machines and 2K machines, and it works great.  Just needs a reboot to take effect.

hi,

The KB article should have placed the link for
the tzedit uility at the top but it is several pages
below.

you don't need to touch the registry if you use
tzedit, just tell it when dst starts and stops,
very easy.

hi

Forgot,

after you use the tzedit, you change your timezone
to a different one and then back to the one you want to use, this avoids a reboot.

KB9MAC is right.  This method is fool proof on XP home, win2K and there is one for win98 as well.  The microsoft method is brain surgery compare to the tool at the link MAC gives.

hi,

yes there are a few utilities out to do this for us,
Ken is correct, I did not say he was not.

the tzedit link is similar to the other utilites that can do this, no need to touch any registry files.
