Recently purchased West Mountain Rig Blaster Plug & Play. I use Mac's OS X, I followed the instructions and loaded the driver, before plugging RB into the serial port. I'm using a FT817 with the data port. I was not able to   access any of the Mac programs which is supposed to see the radio.
1. I have not bought any license of any de-corder program as I do not know which one I want.
2. I do not have the RIG control cable or the CW cable yet.
3. I can not see the RB P&P through my preferences, Is this normal ??
4. I plan to use PSK-31, and hopefully able to control the radio via MacLogger.
Has anyone encountered problems ? Any tips on hook up ?? I only spent a few hours trying to get it to work, checking the documentation, etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't messed with any of their products in the last three or four years, but Rig Blaster (the company) has never been particularly Mac-friendly.

There are too many other good, Mac-friendly, interfaces out there to mess with Rig Blaster.

Just my opinion ...

I have had many QSO's in PSK31 using MultiMode, by Dog Park Software, with a RigBlaster Plus.  I haven't tried to control my FT-897D using MultiMode yet.

I am in the same boat. If you figured it out let me know. I have an IC 703 and an FT 847. The main problem is I cannot seem to get the plug and play to hear the tones. I know audio is coming out as I hear them in the speaker but the PTT does not kick over in the P&P  or the rig.

I know the unit works as I have an old 300MHz laptop I use it with for digipan. Thought I would upgrade and stop slumming it with Windows Wink so got FLDIGI for Mac.

Again, if you figured it out I'd love to hear it.
