This video details the manufacture of a 1960's era CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) for use in Tektronix oscilloscopes. In 1995 the Tektronix Television Products division was paying only $70 a tube to the Tektronix CRT manufacturing line. These were manufactured in Oregon until 1995 when the operation was closed and CRTs were purchased from Phillips.

Those videos are really cool (I spent about 2 hours watching several of them). I sent them to my engineering colleagues with an email recommending them as a way to solve problems with insomnia.

They would be great on a retro "How It's Made" episode. The one on transresistance reminded me of freshman year engineering school.
