I got a Conar 311 capacitance tester off eBay. Opened it up, looked fine. Ran it up with my isolated variable AC supply to 110V, with a new from the factory capacitor in the terminals, and the tube indicator opened up when I dialed in the correct value. All seems well, except the nut two feet in front of the front panel...me. If anyone can point me to a free manual, or post or e-mail a little operational primer for this unit, I would appreciate it. I don't know what the power factor knob is for, etc. E-mail is callsign at arrl dot net.

Tubes, tubes. Heard of SO2R? This unhealthy fondness I've developed for both Ham and old broadcast tube radios have me at about SO24R. I've been listening to one I got at a Presbyterian flea market for 25 cents hi hi...

TIA,
Chuck, N8UW
