Finally made the decision to go full SDR. I had been using a Kenwood TS940S with a Piexx Control board, LP-PAN panadapter, PowerSDR-IQ, and the usual widgets that make it all work....notice past tense. Lightning took it all out when it entered house via ground rod line at the remote antenna tuner. AH-4 Icom looks like it was blowtorched inside. Oh, and the computer was hammered as well.

Priced options to rebuild what I had and basically was very close to cost of a new Flex 5000A. So ordered one.

I understand the tuner issues have been resolved.

Congrats on the new Flex 5000. It is a lot of fun to operate and u can adjust and then adjust some more. Or not!. I don't have the tuner as I prefer a Palstar auto tuner outboard. My understanding that 2.0 addressed the tuner issue. Enjoy and may the lighting gremlins leave u bve. Russ K8QF.
