Hello,
I'm pretty new to amateur radio and come at it more from the air-band side.
Anyway, I wanted to let people know about a computer project I've been working on. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Basically its a computer setup that is designed to record more or less continuously (18-hours/day, 7 days/week), and then automatically burn to blank dvd at the end of the week.
I'm not exactly sure if this would be useful to people here or not, but thought it might be. For me it's more to record air tower communications for future reference.
It is linux based and is designed to run on an old pc, the type you might have lying around after windows 2000 stopped working for you, or something you see getting junked, (although it does need a dvd burner).
Anyway, if you're curious, I have a link to download the thing at my blog. Installation documentation (.pdf) can also be downloaded. Its also free to download if you choose to do it.
The software page is at
