Add a bucket to your hose, that's a capacitor.  Add a water heavy wheel that can suck water from the hose if the pressure drops, that's an inductor...

There's a lot of visual / physical analogies you can make.

Pretty good analogy would work for kids,  they can relate to playing with water without the algebra....I like it.

Resistor color code: most know the bad boys, many know the older military variant of that , some even use a variant of BB ROYGBIV white, but an Old Navy Salt an SK had one I won't forget, it was so unusual. He's the only one I've ever heard use it. Guess it's from the 40's. He used to wear his Chaplin Bars after Exams.

The resistor color code,  per W3FRC Bill Dykes (sk)

Bad Boys Romance Our Young Girls Behind Victory Garden Walls

something for everyone.

Ohm's Law

_____E______
.....I........R........  Cover the item of interest. multiply or divide to find the quantity.

Now A little ditty from  the old W3SL Radio Club

The eagle flies over the Indian chasing the rabbit.   as pictured above

multiply or divide to find the quantity.

I actually had exactly the same experience as the original post.

I work as a professional firefighter. When I was learning to run a fire pump and learning things like friction loss, how hose diameter effects pump pressure, how the tip of a master stream changes the flow of water in gallons per minute, how the length of a hose lay effects pressure.............. I thought to myself: this is just like ohm's law.
