I used to get on the WPX contest in the past and give out a few contacts, but with vanity call signs it seems like there are not any rare prefixes anymore for the U.S. There are a whole slew of AG5 Calls now - 2x1, 2x2, 2x3 etc. -- maybe as many as W5's. So, I guess the thing to look for nowadays in the WPX is call signs outside the U.S. to get those prefixes. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

There might be a lot of guys with AG5 calls, but how many of them get on for a WPX?

In WPX just work as many people as fast as you can an the mults will add up.  Don't forget the extra points on the the low bands.  So don't neglect 160, 80 and 40.

N2MG and AD6WL are both right.

AG5 calls are not all that common, even though new 2x2s may be issued now.  You're still somewhat rare, a lot rarer than, say, a JA1.

The real secret to WPX is to work everybody in (radio) sight.

Some ops will thank you for the multiplier.
