ARCS II for the Kenwood TS-2000

Hi Harlen,

I have used both the ARCS II software and the ARCP-2000 Radio Control Program software that Kenwood offers for the TS-2000 and in my opinion the ARCS II is the better of the two.  The price is right to start with but the fact that the features are almost identical is a major factor as well.  In my opinion the Kenwood software may appear a bit more refined, but the fact that they both offer the same features is the main thing to consider.  I run Ham Radio Deluxe software most of the time and since it uses the one of the com ports on my computer and the only other port is used for keying the mic and keyer I am unable to run either of the two radio controlling software programs at the same time.  If you have a specific question fire away and I will see if I can answer it for you.

Not a good choice for a WIN7 computer.  I am using a Gateway netbook, WIN7 Home with a Prolific USB-Serial converter.  The program installs with out a problem but freezes up to the extent that the ONLY way to close it is to go the Task Manager.  I have also tried it with my E-Machines desktop, WIN7 Home Premium using the same USB-Serial converter with identical results.

The netbook with the USB-Serial converter works, without ANY problems, with all my other TS200 related programs including the ARCP-2000 program.
