Hi everyone,
I am BG2BHC, EX SWL BG2-1-75587 from China.
I found this movie MAKING WAVES about hams, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418851/. I think it will be something good to introduce ham radio to others.
I am intereated in it, but found nowhere to see it except a few trailers. I found it on Amazon UK, but the international delvery is too expensive for me.
Can anyone give me a hand?

I looked at the movie just because you said so. I got into it for about 15 minutes, when I realized it was, at best, a C class movie. Some of the terms used, are more CB in nature, than they are real-world amateur radio.

I wish I could help you to find the film you are looking for. I really dont see where you could get it from appart from its main distributor.

But by coincidence or not, and with a bit of curiosity for your country and place of where you live, i did a bit of research on the internet and found some really interesting cultural aspects of your region in China. I actually have found 2 films on the Russian Cultural Diaspora in Shangai and Manchuria.

Thanks for your posting and 73!

I like looking at the radios they use in movies & TV.
I remember one Sci Fi Channel monster movie in particular.
The small town sheriff's dispatcher's radio was a Kenwood TS-940S.
I got a good long look at it because there was a "drama" shot
of the mic sitting in a pool of blood next to the radio
......after the monster ate the dispatcher!  Grin

Some of the WW2 films have great radio shots in them.

"Contact" has to be the best advertisment for us I think, portraying hams in a very positive light. And its one of my favourite movies of all time.  Grin

Sounds interesting.  I'll have to check it out.
Also, don't forget the movie, "Frequency".  Also a good movie with lots of ham radio face time...and all of it in a positive light.
Cheers.
