I just acquired a rotator sans control box. I will be building my own PIC-controlled control box, with manual jog, digital heading select, and LCD readout of heading. I can easily also add a provision for remote-control via a computer, which raises the following questions:
Which of the Ham radio programs provide control of rotator heading?
DXView, the geo-information component of the free-ware DXLab Suite can control a broad range of rotators; see
http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxviewWhat is the nature of the interface? Serial? Parallel? USB?
Serial. You could emulate any of the common protocols; Hygain, for example. If you need protocol documentation let me know via aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com
