I was so excited about the WPX CW contest this last weekend I made a terrible mistake.  I forgot that the time had changed and we were on daylight savings time.  I tried to start at 2300 hrs instead of 0000 hrs UTC.  I didn't turn in a log, so no problem for me, but I wanted to apologize to all those I tried to send contest exchanges to BEFORE the contest started.  What a maroon I am...n5xm

You aren't the first, nor will you be the last. Smiley

This is a good reason to have a clock in the shack set to UTC. I have three clocks on the menu bar of my iMac: UTC, 24-hour Local and 12-hour Local.

A smoking section in a restaurant makes as much sense as a peeing section in a swimming pool.

Ditto on UTC.  The only clock in my shack is on UTC time.

Turning in a log is optional, so not a big deal if you don't submit your log, and no need to appologize.  Many people get on, make a few QSO's, and that it...

However, if you DO enter a log, you also get to see your call in print (for the major contests), which can be a reward itself.

Most of us will never "win", but its always fun to get on and make some QSO's.
