Well, I've been searching the forum and web for info about bringing ham radio equipment into Mexico and found a lot about licensing there but not about just bringing a radio through without operating it. Here is what I'm wondering...
We will be going to Belize and it is MUCH cheaper to fly to Cancun than Belize City but this means my radio will be entering Mexico. We will be in Mexico only a day or so until we get to Belize. What would I need to know about traveling with my radio into Mexico? Once again; I will not be using it in Mexico and will only be there for a day or so.

I can't imagine anyone even noticing, not to mention caring.

If it was new in a box, yeah that might get questioned.  If its used then I don't see the issue.

I agree, as long as you're talking about something like a portable or mobile rig (e.g. an FT-817 or FT-857). If your talking about something larger and does not fit in a suitcase, you might need to explain what you're doing (but only if they ask).

Bring your US and Belize license to show you're on the up-and-up.

If you're worried about it and have a secure address (hotel, friend, etc) in Belize, why not just ship the radio gear to Belize and then personally travel however is convenient?
