Your description applies to you as well, and that is the point I'm trying to cover with you. Like a few others who visit here, you seemingly have an answer, and not matter where the truth lies, everyone else's doesn't count. Before you throw mud on someone, you'd best look in the mirror first.

As for knock sensors, I know of no modern engines without them, because it is part of the requisite pollution controls.

Ok, back to the issue, spark plug wires corrected the issue.  And fortunately the #1 plug wire wasn't the issue because I didn't want to get into taking the ac compressor off last Monday night.  Oddly enough those wires were only about a year old as I had replace all that when I tuned it last year.  Who knows...

Sorry to go off subject again.  Alan, as you told me once, he thinks knows everything.  Maybe he thinks putting a capacitor on the spark plug wire will cure the noise, AND fool the knock sensor just as it will make up for lighter gauge wire instead of the proper gauge wire supplying power to a rig.  Grin
