repeater guides

I have some interest in making an Android app which would aid in finding repeaters close to a users location but having a good source for repeater locations is critical!

Any good (free) online repeater guides? Any repeater guide databases which are downloadable?

The databases for AZ are online but not in a DL form sorry...Try Azrepeaters.net for the most up to date info for AZ. Or ARCA website for a not so up to date list.

If your are expecting to use LAT/LONG information, I highly doubt that the information is available as most repeater owners do not want to advertise the location of their equipment.  You can do it by approximate location, that being a city name, by County, etc., but to try to do it to the exact LAT/LONG, forget about it.

I use repeaterbook.com to find repeaters.  It has a proximity search function, and other advanced search features.  Their database is more up to date and comprehensive than the program I have for my iPhone.  Perhaps they offer an API service for app developers.

Just went to repeaterbook and found the offering less then steller. They list 25 repeaters TOTAL for the state of North Carolina, and 1 repeater in Raleigh. Trust me there are many more.

k5ehx (http://k5ehx.net/repeaters/qrepeater.php) lists 640 for NC. and I believe has the data you would need for an app. You might contact the owner of the site and see if you can work out a deal.
