I tried to install EZSSTV yesterday and Win7 (64bit) said it wasn't compatible. I tried to email the author but his email address on QRZ bounced back.
What is the current "darling" app for SSTV that is Win7 happy?

hi Paul,

have you tried MMSSTV?

HRD 5.0 has DM780 that supports SSTV as well as other digital modes.

Thank you James, I have those and had used them, at least MMSSTV, a fews years back.
I was wondering if there was a current "stand out" - even it it were a few dollars.

Hey Guys!

IMHO their is a BIG difference between EasyPal and programs like MMSSTV and alike. EasyPAL is not truly SSTV as we are accustomed to. Programs like MMSSTV and HRD/DM780 and alike are Analog or in other words it uses Audio Tones where as EasyPAL is more Digital in nature and sends the data in packets. Another BIG difference is the Analog programs, will display the Picture as it is being decoded, line by line. EasyPal you don't see the picture until it has been nearly fully copied. Also in the analog programs the Picture resolution cannot be any larger than 320x240pixels. EaspPal can TX up to atleast 1200pixels. The Analog programs are much easier to tune in a Signal than EasyPAL. EasyPAL you have to be right on the Markers. One thing both programs have in common they donot like noise. IMHO.

KG-STV is a different kind of digital SSTV that runs fine on Win7. It actually works more like traditional analog SSTV in that it scans line by line, horizontally or vertically, or if you like, randomly.

Although it is not widely used, it is interesting and can be found here, along with an informative technical description:

I have a SSTV webcam site that monitors KG-STV mode and posts received images to:

Otherwise, it's really hard to beat MMSSTV for analog modes.
