 I have constant static noise on 160mtrs is this normal for summer, and do rfi chokes work well. Also its a vertical antenna and 10mtrs seems very quiet. Any help. Thanks

Normal for summer. You're hearing every thunderstorm for 500 miles.

Does the noise change during the day?  That will also help make sure it isn't RFI (it should!).  160 and 80 during the summer is quite noisy if you don't have a proper rx antenna.

However, I have noise if I have the DVD player plugged in.  Got a christmas light foot power switch to take care of that. Smiley

Rf chokes will not help. 160m gets better in the late fall,and best in the middle of winter.
