Anyone going?  Anyone been to it before?  Only about an hour and a half from my house so think I'll go.  Hopefully worth the trip.  If nothing else, I get to drive thru the Smoky Mtns, and maybe find the highest peak and make "DX" contacts on my 2meter!   Grin   The only hamfest I've been to was last month in Knoxville. (Where I got my license)

Highest point in the Smokies is Clingman's Dome.... there is an observation tower at the top and you can see and talk a long way from there.

I went.  Was a small show but a bunch of great people!  Bought the study guide so I can upgrade to general, picked up a spare 2m antenna, and bought a Kenwood TS-440 with antenna tuner!  Looked at a bencher paddle but when I came back with the cash, it was sold.  I guess $50 was a good price.  Huh  Anyhow, it was a good day and worth the 75 mile drive.   Smiley
