Hi. I have a Heathkit SB102 SSB Transceiver, and just got the crystal CW filter. Anybody out there have the instructions on how to wire it up? The mount is right next to the existing SSB filter, but where to connect to?

Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric,

Pull the chassis out of the cabinet and take a look at the SSB filter.  You will see two wires from the filter to a nearby ceramic switch.  Notice the two contacts on the switch to which the SSB filter is wired.  Now rotate the switch by the front panel mode control knob to the CW position and watch the rotary contacts move to the new position.  Wallah, that's the two contacts that need short jumpers from the CW filter.  The assembly manual details this quite clearly.  Oops, you say you don't have a manual?  Time to look up one of the aftermarket manual suppliers and treat yourself.  It will save you much heartache in the future.  Good luck and CU on CW.
