This isn't exactly "mobile," but it's semi-close.  This is what I've been playing with, the last week:

My next step will be to see if MTD or John Deere will sponsor a DXpedition for me.  :-) Maybe go to Palmyra, "lawnmower portable."  :-)

As a farmer, I don't see too much "green" on the lawnmower...  That John Deere paint is really expensive.  Don't know that it will improve your signal either.

Oh heck. Get yourself a quart of Sebring Silver paint, like that which used to be available for a Corvette. It'll cost about $250, but after all it does have pure silver in it. Just think how good that would make it?

Well, John Deere (or whoever sponsors the DXpedition) would need to give me a new riding mower as well as a box of HF gear.  :-)

When I bought that particular mower, I was a bit disappointed that it was in the McLaren F1 colors at the time.  Something like the old John Player livery would have been more handsome.  :-)

Sorry; this is getting increasingly off topic.  :-/

Never mind Palmyra. Ride down to SOP - my yard and garden need a little help. Also, and even further off topic, enjoyed my cruise around your web pages - nice pic with you and N9COX. Tell Rod I said hi next time you speak to him. My daily commute from SOP to Buies Creek and back allows me much time for mobile ops - HF and up. Maybe I'll hear you on sometime. Regards.

Hi, David!  I was just wondering where you were these days, not more than a week ago.  email me some time, ac4rd at yahoo or at arrl.net, and we can catch up a bit.  I'm working in the program you used to be in, these days!  :-)
