Just wondering why there are so many of these new HT's for sale? It seems to be a way kewl radio but there are at least one or 2 listed for sale every week! Always a question why such new radios are being sold so fast...I don't want to open my wallet if there is a problem.

Thanks  Dan

Why don't you reply to a few ads and ask:
"Why are you selling it?"

The user reviews on the VX8R here on eHam.net are decidedly mixed:

Since there are so many similar HT's to choose from, I'd look elsewhere.

To quote a famous engineer:

"The more you overwork the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain!" -- Montgomery Scott

It seems that this is exactly what has happened to this HT.  Too many bells and whistles, but not enough engineering to go with it.  Yaesu seems to have dropped the ball on this one--badly.

Sometimes their for sale for no other reason than they want something newer. I know guys that buy radios and it seems like a few weeks later their already tired of it and want something new. Personally, I love my VX-8 and would not sell mine. But I usually keep my radios anyway even if I get something new.
