I am looking to build a variable inductor for a project. I need flat hard drawn copper wire soething say 1/8" thick by 3/8" wide.  I can not find anyone that sells or manufactures this wire.

Anyone help with a source for it?

Please reply wa3mej at comcast dot net

Thanks

It's not really wire, but copper strip. You need to try a non-ferrous metal supplier. How do you intend to wind it? Remember, too, that you'll need to anneal it, and even then, it needs a pretty solid winding machine and former.

It's probably out there, just under a different name. You could try finding a metal shop and ask them if any of their suppliers have what you're looking for. I did find copper bracelet material, a little smaller than what you're looking for, as eBay item 370548017626, and the seller might have other sizes and longer lengths, or be able to direct you to a source. MWS Wire - they sell multiple types of wire, various shapes,
various insulations, solid, stranded, litz etc.
