HiMound/Skillman BK-100 bearings?

I won this BK-100 on eBay:

It seems to work well and feel good (smooth and no slop), but I'm kinda concerned...in doing a teardown and cleaning last night (looked like a smoker once owned it) I discovered there are no bearings (ball, needle, etc.) in the lower pivot cup.  Should there be and if so, what type and size?? If someone has a pic of what it should look like, I'd be very appreciative.

On mine, all that I have are two jeweled pivots on the lever arm that fit into receiving cups--much like the  bearing system on an old J-38 straight key.

Update:

There are at least two versions of this bug: one with and one without ball bearings.  I have owned examples of each.  The non-ball bearing models seem to have a little higher quality.

I think the balls are of either 1 or 1.5 mm in diameter, so if you lose them, you might be able to get replacements from McMaster-Carr or a hobby supply.
